The strange voyage of Neptune's Car : production material, 1977.

Young Mary Anne Patten becomes the first woman to command a clipper ship when her husband, the ship's captain, falls ill during the hazardous voyage around Cape Horn and she is the only one aboard capable of navigating. The manuscript portion of this collection includes a holograph, a holograph and corrected typescript, a photocopy typescript, corrected typescripts (one partial carbon, several corrected photocopies), notes, correspondence, research material (photocopy and pamphlets), reviews, a photocopy of the story in Ms. (October, 1978). Illustrative materials comprise two ink & wash studies for jacket, one ink & watercolof study for jacket, five pencil studies for jacket, three sheets pencil studies for jacket, six ink & wash studies, fourteen pencil studies, seventeen sheets pencil studies, one page research material, one page notes.
